The Best Mummelsee Tours

Thirteen tours, ranked by what they actually deliver — not by who pays us most.

We rank these on four things: whether you actually get to the Mummelsee and the High Road, the quality of the guiding, the value for money, and what real travellers say afterwards. Ratings and review counts come straight from GetYourGuide.

We earn a commission if you book through the links below, at no cost to you — which is why the ranking is what it is rather than what a supplier would like it to be. Newer products with few reviews are flagged as such.

How we rank these tours

We look at four things, in this order:

  • Does it reach the lake? A “Black Forest” tour that never leaves the valley floor is not a Mummelsee tour.
  • Guiding. The legend of the Mummeln and the history of the High Road are half the experience.
  • Value. Not the lowest price — the most trip per euro, especially for private tours priced per group.
  • What reviewers say afterwards. We read the three-star reviews, not just the five-star ones.
Our honest advice: if you have a car, drive the High Road yourself early in the morning and spend your tour budget on a second day — Titisee and Triberg, or a guided walk in Baden-Baden. Without a car, the Strasbourg day trips are by far the easiest way to reach the lake.
